A sound project recording hot air balloon journeys. Flying above a landscape, I will record sounds moving up from the ground, creating a sonic map of the journey I am taken on. Funded by Arts Council England. To subscribe to my podcast click here or copy this link into your podcast reader.

Cambridge sound walk
Cambridge sound walk
This map and video will guide listeners through Cambridge city centre. Using the handset you will be able to follow the route taken by the balloon from the Enter_ domes on Parkers Piece to Jesus Green.
A higher res version of the film can also be downloaded here
A short film excerpt of the flight will be presented as a 'sound walk' through Cambridge city centre. You will be able to follow the route taken by the balloon from Parkers Piece to Midsummers Common. This will feature as part of The Junction's art and technology festival ENTER_
SONY have kindly lent me two PSPs for the duration of the festival, they will be available for the public to pick up from the ENTER_ base camp on Parkers Piece. Using these handsets the listener will be directed along the balloon's original path, experiencing a birds' eye/ear view from the sky. These walks are also available from my podcast
ENTER_UNKNOWN TERRITORIES International Conference & Festival for New Technology Art 25-29 April 2007, Cambridge (UK)
17th April 2007 at 630pm we launched from Impington, by the A14 and landed near Addenbrookes just off the A1307. Many thanks to Ben and his Dad from Wizard Balloons
As a sound designer, I have worked on a diverse range of projects, including audio installations, radio, film, motion graphics and commercials. After working in Soho for The Sound Designers and 750 MPH, I set up on my own working for clients such as Saab, Nike, Intro, and why not associates. Christmas 2005 saw my feature length debut as sound designer for BBC1's animated adaptation of The Snow Queen.
Alongside commercial jobs, I work on site-specific experimental sound projects. In 2005 I co-organised Radio Taxi: a two week RSL broadcast from Taxi Gallery, Cambridge. I have exhibited sound installations and worked with artists internationally in New York, Memphis and Vienna. In November 2005, working with choreographer Rosemary Butcher, I composed a site-specific sound piece for The Tate Modern's Turbine Hall, and more recently created/installed a multichannel soundtrack for ‘Lock’, a new film exhibited in New York by artist Catherine Yass.
